Introduction
I have been a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice for over 20 years with a wealth of experience working with individuals, couples and groups. I am co-founder and lead therapist at Mind Garden Therapy Ltd, Reading’s largest centre for counselling & psychotherapy. Previously, I was an Associate of Life Story Therapeutic Centre, Reading and worked as a consultant therapist for The Wellbeing Centre at Microsoft, Reading.
I am an experienced supervisor for individuals and groups, with success in assisting supervisees to gain their accreditation.
I have broad experience in Autism Spectrum conditions and am a therapeutic consultant for Autism Oxford.
I offer clinical supervision to trainees and therapists, providing experienced support during the process of accreditation.
My orientation is integrative. I combine a Person Centred core approach with CBT and EFT tools. By drawing on my training and experience of different modalities, I tailor my response to meet the unique needs of each client.
I believe that our responses to life choices and situations are in our own hands. Sometimes life experiences shock, or cause us to get stuck and we need help to understand the baffling array of emotions we are attempting to resolve. To find solutions and personal peace we need to access our whole self, head and heart and spirit.
In this busy and often isolated world counselling and psychotherapy provides a safe, supportive setting. Here life difficulties may be explored in a confidential space at your own pace. In undertaking counselling you are gifting yourself time to sit and hear yourself think, feel and reflect in the company of an experienced professional. My aim is to assist you through this unique collaborative process to gain a greater insight and understanding of the nature and origins of your emotional distress and inner conflicts. In learning new skills you will discover and free the inner resourcefulness that will equip you to live life more fully.
